Top Tip
Lay your tassels out in a colour themed pattern before threading onto ribbon, in case you change your mind!
How to Make
- Take one sheet of tissue paper and lay it out landscape and cut into two, so you have two pieces approx. 31cm wide.
- Fold one piece in half down onto itself with the open ends of tissue being at the bottom. Draw a faint line along the top of the folded tissue approx. 4cm down, this will be your stop line for cutting.
- Now measure across the line and mark dots every 2cm as a guide for cutting your strips to keep them even. Now using your scissors cut straight lines up to the stop line and aiming for the dots you have marked.
- Once all the strips are cut, lay flat and spread your strips out neatly (shiny side down if using silver) you should have two sides of strips and one untouched strip down the centre. Roll this untouched section onto itself tightly and gently and making sure the tassels aren’t getting tangled as you scrunch and roll away the tissue from yourself.
- Once fully rolled, twist this section into a loop and secure with glue. Once dried they can be looped onto ribbon. You can use sticky dots to keep the tassels separated on the ribbon by placing a dot within the loop.
- Repeat the steps with as many colours as you wish and thread onto your ribbon and display at your party or in your bedroom!
