Top Tip
Lay everything out on the board first before sticking in place to ensure everything is where you want it.
How to Make
- Cut your foam board to 40cm x 60cm. Bend a pipe cleaner into a hexagon shape.
- Put some yellow paint into a craft tray and dip your hexagon pipe cleaner into the paint.
- Print the hexagon shape repeatedly over the foam board to create a beehive pattern.
- Pick the letters BEE HAPPY out of the wooden letter pack and paint them in yellow and black stripes. Glue onto the centre of the foam board.
- Make an oval shape out of a yellow pipe cleaner, leaving approximately 5cm at the end.
- Wrap the remaining 5cm around the top of the oval shape, then take a black pipe cleaner and wrap this around, too.
- Repeat with a yellow pipe cleaner, then black, then yellow, until you reach the bottom. This is the body of the bee.
- Take another black pipe cleaner and roll it up into a circular shape to make the head.
- Stick this at the top of the body.
- Take a blue pipe cleaner and create two loops, like an 8 shape.
- Glue this at the back of the bee to act as wings. Repeat to make another bee.
- Glue the two bees on either side of the ‘BEE HAPPY’ letters.
- Take a few black pipe cleaners and cut them into 4cm pieces.
- Place them onto the board in a dotted, curled line, coming out from the bottom of the bee.
- You can bend the pieces, so they create the right shape. Glue them into place.
- Dip a mini sponge paint dapper into some black paint.
- Print half circles onto the edge of the board repeatedly, to create a scalloped pattern. Do this all the way round.
- Stick some felt flowers sporadically over the board.
- Cut some yellow ribbon to 70cm and glue each end onto the top of the back of the board, so it can be hung.
