Top Tip
Keep in mind where you want to hang your bee hotel in your garden when you are cutting the length of the string – you may want to cut the string longer if you have a higher branch.
How to Make
- Build your flowerpot.
- Turn it on its side, making sure that the larger side with the tabs sticking out is at the top.
- Paint on your chosen bee design. You can create your own bee design if you like.
- Once dry, apply a coat of varnish.
- Once dry, cut four pieces of string to 25cm each.
- Tie each one around the tabs on each four corners on the top.
- Tie the other end of the four pieces of string together in a big knot.
- Place the bamboo straws inside the box.
- To finish, varnish the wood that is still exposed on the inside.
